Table 7-26. Misshapen Characters, Voids Possible Cause Recommended Action 1. Paper surface too rough. Toner migrates to low spots, leaving higher areas void. Turn EconoMode off. Use paper with correct finish (smoothness) (see HP LaserJet Printer Family Paper Specifications Guide). 2. Printing on wrong side of paper. Turn EconoMode off. If the Transfer Roller has finger oils on its surface, is dirty, or is worn-out, this problem can result. Turn EconoMode off. Clean the Transfer Roller using a dry, lint-free cloth. DO NOT touch the Transfer Roller with your fingers. If the problem persists, replace the Transfer Roller Assembly. See "Transfer Roller Assembly" on page 282 for instructions. 6. Laser/Scanner Assembly is bad. Replace the Laser/Scanner Assembly. See "Laser/Scanner Assembly" on page 254 for instructions. C4229-90911 Image Quality 607
