TouchPad NOTE: The TouchPad spare part kit includes the TouchPad cable. Description TouchPad Spare part number 783028-001 Before removing the TouchPad, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the keyboard/top cover (see Keyboard/top cover on page 27). Remove the TouchPad: 1. Turn the keyboard/top cover upside down with the front toward you. 2. Remove the two Philllips PM1.9×2.4 broad head screws (1) that secure the TouchPad to the keyboard/ top cover. NOTE: When removing the TouchPad, make sure the cable is released through the opening (2) in the keyboard/top cover. 3. Remove the TouchPad and cable (3) by releasing them from the top surface of the keyboard/top cover. 4. Remove the TouchPad. Before removing the TouchPad, follow these steps:
1.
Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the

2.
Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3.
Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4.
Remove the keyboard/top cover (see

).
Remove the TouchPad:
1.
Turn the keyboard/top cover upside down with the front toward you.
2.
Remove the two Philllips PM1.9×2.4 broad head screws

that secure the TouchPad to the keyboard/
top cover.
NOTE:
When removing the TouchPad, make sure the cable is released through the opening

3.
Remove the TouchPad and cable

by releasing them from the top surface of the keyboard/top cover.
4.
Remove the TouchPad.
Reverse this procedure to install the TouchPad.
