Before removing the audio/USB board, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the keyboard/top cover (see Keyboard/top cover on page 27). 5. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (see Battery on page 31). Remove the audio/USB board: 1. Release the ZIF connector (1) to which the audio/USB board cable is attached, and then disconnect the audio/USB board cable from the system board. 2. Detach the audio/USB board cable (2) from the battery. (The audio/USB board cable is attached to the battery with double-sided adhesive.) 3. Disconnect the speaker cable (3) from the audio/USB board. 4. Remove the Phillips PM2.4×3.7 screw (4) that secures the audio/USB board to the bottom cover. 5. Lift the right edge of the audio/USB board (5) and swing it up until it rests at an angle. 6. Remove the audio/USB board (6) by sliding it up and to the right at an angle. Before removing the audio/USB board, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and
then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4.
Remove the keyboard/top cover (see

).
5.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (see
Battery
on page
31
).
Remove the audio/USB board:
1.
Release the ZIF connector
(1)
to which the audio/USB board cable is attached, and then disconnect the
audio/USB board cable from the system board.
2.
Detach the audio/USB board cable
(2)
from the battery. (The audio/USB board cable is attached to the
battery with double-sided adhesive.)
3.
Disconnect the speaker cable
(3)
from the audio/USB board.
4.
Remove the Phillips PM2.4×3.7 screw
(4)
that secures the audio/USB board to the bottom cover.
5.
Lift the right edge of the audio/USB board
(5)
and swing it up until it rests at an angle.
6.
Remove the audio/USB board
(6)
by sliding it up and to the right at an angle.
Reverse this procedure to install the audio/USB board.
