5. If it is necessary to remove the optical drive board from the system board, pull the optical drive board straight off the system board. The optical drive board is available using spare part number 519481-001 for computers with discrete graphics and 535805-001 for computers with UMA graphics. Reverse this procedure to install the system board. Audio/infrared board Description Audio/infrared board for use in computers with discrete graphics subsystems (includes cable) Audio/infrared board for use in computers with UMA graphics subsystems (includes cable) Spare part number 516330-001 518166-001 Before removing the audio/infrared board, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC Adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 43). 5. Remove the following components: a. Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 48). b. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 44). c. Switch cover and keyboard (see Switch cover and keyboard on page 57). d. Speaker assembly (see Speaker assembly on page 62). 82 Chapter 4 Removal and replacement procedures
