6-46 Installing the Operating System Drivers Ignore the specified adapter; do not control the adapter with this driver. This parameter prevents the ADD driver from recognizing the specified adapter. Use this parameter when you intend to allow another driver to control a specific adapter. IMPORTANT: Be careful not to ignore the primary controller or the boot controller; this would cause the system to be unable to boot. Example: You are running intraNetWare on your OS/2 2.x system and you want an intraNetWare NLM to control adapter 2 instead of the ADD driver. The following statement would prevent the ADD driver from claiming adapter 2. BASEDEV=CPQARRAY.ADD /A:2 /I Important Information The driver MUST be loaded by a BASEDEV= statement in the CONFIG.SYS file. This statement is automatically inserted by the ADDARRAY.CMD installation procedure. Updating the Compaq Insight Manager Agents If you are using Compaq Insight Manager you will also need to update the Insight Agents for this monitoring utility for support of the new SMART-2DH Controller. If you used SmartStart 3.40 or later to install the operating system on a new SMART-2DH Controller installation or upgrade your driver in an existing installation the agents were automatically updated for you by SmartStart, you will not have to manually update the agents. COMPAQ CONFIDENTIAL - NEED TO KNOW REQUIRED
Ignore the specified adapter; do not control the adapter with this driver.
This parameter prevents the ADD driver from recognizing the specified
adapter. Use this parameter when you intend to allow another driver to
control a specific adapter.
IMPORTANT:
Be careful not to ignore the primary controller or the boot
controller; this would cause the system to be unable to boot.
Example
: You are running intraNetWare on your OS/2 2.x system and
you want an intraNetWare NLM to control adapter 2 instead of the
ADD driver. The following statement would prevent the ADD driver
from claiming adapter 2.
BASEDEV=CPQARRAY.ADD /A:2 /I
Important Information
The driver MUST be loaded by a BASEDEV= statement in the
CONFIG.SYS
file. This statement is automatically inserted by the ADDARRAY.CMD
installation procedure.
Updating the Compaq Insight
Manager Agents
If you are using Compaq Insight Manager you will also need to update the
Insight Agents for this monitoring utility for support of the new SMART-2DH
Controller.
If you used SmartStart 3.40 or later to install the operating system on a new
SMART-2DH Controller installation or upgrade your driver in an existing
installation the agents were automatically updated for you by SmartStart, you
will not have to manually update the agents.
