Before installing the HP StorageWorks Modular SAN Array 1000 SAN
Switch 2/8, make sure that the HP StorageWorks Modular SAN Array 1000
has firmware version 2.38 or newer.
■
Because of the built in power-on self-test (POST) diagnostics of the MSA
SAN Switch 2/8,
the switch is not completely initialized when the MSA1000
LCD panel displays:
01 Compaq MSA1000
Startup Complete
When the MSA SAN Switch 2/8 is fully initialized, the MSA1000 LCD panel
displays:
SanSwitch 2/8 IP adr
<switch IP address>
The MSA SAN Switch 2/8 is fully initialized and available to connected hosts
as soon as this message is displayed on the MSA1000 LCD panel.
Please allow additional time for the switch to compete the POST diagnostics
before attempting any data transfer from the host to the MSA1000. For more
information about POST diagnostics, please refer to Chapter 4 of the
HP
StorageWorks MSA SAN Switch 2/8 Installation Guide
