Session Servers Compaq Thin Client terminals can connect to Citrix ICA and Microsoft RDP sessions running on remote servers. ICA ICA can be made available on the network using either of the following services: ■ Microsoft Windows 2000 Server with Terminal Services and one of the following installed: ❏ Citrix MetaFrame 1.8 ❏ Cirtix MetaFrame XP ❏ Citrix Device Services (CDS) ■ Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server Edition with one of the following installed: ❏ Citrix MetaFrame 1.8 ❏ Citrix MetaFrame 1.0 ❏ CDS RDP RDP can be made available on the network using any of the following services: ■ Windows 2000 Server with Terminal Services installed ■ Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server Edition ✎ If a Windows 2000 server is used, for both of these session services (ICA and RDP) a Terminal Services Client Access Licenses (TSCAL) server must also reside somewhere on the network. The server grants temporary licenses (on an individual device basis) that are good for 90 days. Beyond that, you must purchase TSCALs and install them in the TSCAL server (you cannot make a connection without a temporary or permanent license). Quick Reference Guide 1
