Installing an Altiris BootWorks Partition on an HP Compaq t5000 Thin Client with Microsoft Windows CE .NET Creating a Job for BootWorks Deployment and Installation To create a job for BootWorks deployment and installation, perform the following steps: 1. Prior to creating this job, unpack the Memory Allocation Change Utility Softpaq (available from http://www.hp.com/products/thinclientsoftware) into a folder on the Deployment Server Console machine and note the location (e.g., c:\program files\altiris\express\deployment server\CE_CABS\smad.exe). 2. On the Deployment Server Console, right-click in the Jobs window and select New Job. 3. Name the job with a descriptive name that can be easily remembered, such as "Install BootWorks on CE.NET clients." 4. In the upper right corner of the Job Detail window, click Add > Copy File to. 5. Select Copy File and enter the path to the Memory Change Utility that was created prior to creating this job. (e.g., c:\program files\altiris\express\deployment server\CE_CABS\smad.exe). 6. Enter the following into the destination path: \temp\smad.exe. Click Finish. 7. In the upper right corner of the Job Detail window, click Add > Run Script. 8. Check the box for Run this script and enter the following in the script window: \temp\smad.exe 25000 This will change the program memory allocation to 25000 KBs. 9. Check the Run this Script in Windows button and click Finish. 10. The upper right corner of the Job Detail window, click Add > Copy File to. 11. Select Copy File and enter the path to the CE .NET BootWorks Installation Package created in the previous section (e.g., c:\program files\altiris\express\deployment server\BWpkgs\BworksCE.exe). 12. In the Destination path field, enter the name of the file into the temporary folder of the client. (e.g., \temp\BworksCE.exe) and click Finish. 13. In the upper right corner of the Job Detail window, click Add > Run Script. 14. Check the box for Run this script and enter the change directory command to the temporary folder and execute the BootWorks installer package in the script window. If using the same name of BworksCE.exe, enter the following: \temp\BworksCE.exe 15. Check the Run this script in Windows button and click Finish. 16. In the upper right corner of the Job Detail window, click Add > Copy File to. 17. Select Copy File and enter the path to the Memory Change Utility that was created prior to creating this job. (i.e. c:\program files\altiris\express\deployment server\CE_CABS\smad.exe). 18. Enter the following into the destination path: \temp\smad.exe. Click Finish. 19. In the upper right corner of the Job Detail window, click Add > Run Script. 20. If you are using a HP Compaq t5300 Thin Client, check the box for Run this script and enter the following in the script window: \temp\smad.exe 2464 This will reset the program memory allocation to the default 2464 KBs. 21. If you are using a HP Compaq t5500 Thin Client, check the box for Run this script and enter the following in the script window: \temp\smad.exe 12772 4
