New Features for CE .NET HP Image Refresh 4.21 HP Connection Administrator Version 2.0 Assigning New Connections Global UI Simplified Kiosk Mode Citrix ICA 7.20 Web Client CE .NET HP Image Refresh 4.21 features an updated, simplified version of HP Connection Administrator. The new HP Connection Administrator provides a simplified method of assigning new connections and a Global User Interface. The new HP Connection Administrator allows network administrators to easily configure connections. HP Connection Administrator has the following three functionalities: HP Connection Administrator has the following three buttons: Add - HP Connection Administrator will prompt the user to select a connection type (IE, ICA, RDP, or TEC). The appropriate connection wizard will launch. Delete - Users can delete the highlighted entry. Edit - HP Connection Administrator will launch the appropriate wizard and allow changes. NOTE: Single-clicking the Yes/No values for Auto Connect and Persistent under the Advanced section will toggle the value. The Global UI allows the administrator to easily establish the same desktop settings to multiple thin client devices simultaneously. Kiosk mode allows an administrator to configure a thin client device so that it has a single or limited purpose. The administrator can securely lock the thin client and control which applications the user can access. Kiosk mode works in a manner similar to the single-purpose computing devices you find in public places, such as Internet kiosks and ATM machines. CE .NET HP Image Refresh 4.21 provides a simpler method of selecting Kiosk mode than the previous images. From the HP Connection Administrator, administrators may click the Advanced button. The administrator can then select the desired Kiosk parameters, including: Kiosk mode with task bar only. Kiosk mode with Connection Administrator only. Kiosk with no user interface or task bar. CE .NET HP Image Refresh 4.21 features Citrix ICA 7.20 Web Client. ICA 7.20 allows users to access Disk-on-Key drives without allowing access to other drives, such as '\Hard Disk' where the system and application executables reside Only a single client folder (and all its subdirectories) can be redirected to a particular drive letter (e.g. "drive a:") within the ICA session. 3
