Actual compressed capacity varies depending on the type of data that is being recorded. The tape drive uses the Adaptive Lossless Data Compression (ALDC) algorithm and integrated circuit chip. The ALDC algorithm is compliant with the Ecma International standard. Data compression is controlled by the software. c GB stands for 1 000 000 000 bytes.
