This is how you normally operate the transceiver. However, this transceiver is also capable of using semi-duplex operation. In semi-duplex operation, you are able to access a repeater, in order to transmit over longer distances. This can be useful when a party member is out of range of normal transmission. In order to use semi-duplex operation, a repeater must be available in the area. Refer to the channel frequency tables on pages 41 and 42 for the receive and transmit frequencies when using simplex or semi-duplex operation. 32
