Chapter 2 Using the Zoom This camera provides a 2X optical zoom and a 2X digital zoom. Telephoto (T) Wide angle (W) 1 Set the Mode selector to Capture . 2 Press the Telephoto (T) button until the desired optical zoom magnification is reached. The optically-zoomed image appears in the viewfinder (and in the LCD, if Preview is turned on). 3 Take the picture. 4 OPTIONAL: If optical zoom is extended to the 2X maximum, an additional 2X digital magnification can be applied by pressing the Telephoto (T) button again. The LCD turns on, if it is not already. The digitally-zoomed image and "2X" are displayed. NOTE: You may notice a decrease in printed image quality when using digital zoom. 5 Use the LCD to frame the subject. Take the picture. 6 Press the Wide angle (W) button to turn off digital zoom. 15
