TAKING A STEP TEST ■ TAKING A STEP TEST A step test can be taken by using the Leader/Trailer Key (Variable Setting). This test verifies the exposure condition by filming a single document consecutively for a number of frames. A step test is necessary when a different film is used, when a different processing chemical is used, and when the film unit is new. ■ Procedure: 1 Advances the unexposed frames (Apporx 100 frames). (See page 14) 2 Press the Shutter Button. And the document is filmed for the number of frames consecutively. Use the Stop Key to interrupt filming. Following filming, develop images to check for exposure conditions and determine the best setting. If a good result is not obtained in the Auto Exposure Mode, use the Manual Exposure Mode. Image Dark Exposure Remedy Auto Slide the Auto Exposure Control Knob to the right. Darker Lighter Light Manual Set a slower exposure time. 50 ms 2,000 ms Auto Slide the Auto Exposure Control Knob to the left. Darker Lighter Manual Set a faster exposure time. 50 ms 2,000 ms * The step test can also be taken by pressing the Shutter Button for each frame exposure. 3 Advances the unexposed frames (Approx 100 frames). 16

TAKING A STEP TEST
A step test can be taken by using the Leader/Trailer Key (Variable Setting).
This test verifies the exposure condition by filming a single document consecutively for a number of frames. A step
test is necessary when a different film is used, when a different processing chemical is used, and when the film unit
is new.
Procedure:
Advances the unexposed frames (Apporx 100 frames).

Press the Shutter Button.
And the document is filmed for the number of frames
consecutively.
Use the Stop Key to interrupt filming.
Following filming, develop images to check for exposure conditions and determine the best setting.
If a good result is not obtained in the Auto Exposure Mode, use the Manual Exposure Mode.
* The step test can also be taken by pressing the Shutter Button for each frame exposure.
