If only the Cool mode is used, the drain hose is not needed. If the outside temperature is at or near freezing (32°F/0°C) follow the indoor drainage instructions. If using the outdoor drainage method, make sure the outlet of the hose is aimed away from nearby surfaces that could be stained or damaged by the draining water. INDOOR DRAINAGE 1. To attach the drain hose, insert the connector into the upper drain port at the back of the unit until it snaps into place. 2. Place the other end of the drain hose in a bucket that holds at least 28 ounces. Remember to check and empty the bucket frequently to avoid overflows. 3. Set the unit to automatic drain by pressing the Fan and Down buttons at the same time. 4. To detach the drain hose, push the outer ring of the upper drain port in and pull the connector out. 22
