INSTRUCCIONES IMPORTANTES DE SEGURIDAD Al usar artefactos eléctricos, siempre deben tomarse precauciones básicas para reducir el riesgo de incendio, choque eléctrico y lesiones a personas: Lea todas las instrucciones antes de usar este Calefactor. ADVERTENCIA • SÓLO CONECTE EL UNIDAD DIRECTAMENTE A UNA TOMA DE CORRIENTE/CONECTOR DE PARED DE 120V. NUNCA UTILICE CON UN CABLE DE EXTENSIÓN. NO CONECTE EL UNIDAD A CUALQUIER DISPOSITIVO CONECTADO A OTRO CABLE, TALES COMO UNA CAJA DE ENCHUFES, PROTECTOR CONTRA SOBRETENSIONES, ADAPTADORES DE SALIDA MÚLTIPLE, CARRETE DE CABLE, O LOS AMBIENTADORES CON SALIDA DE CORRIENTE. EL USO DE ESTOS DISPOSITIVOS PUEDE PROVOCAR UN PELIGRO DE INCENDIO. No se debe dejar el Unidad operando sin supervisión. Nunca deje a los niños sin supervisión cuando el Unidad esté encendido o conectado. • Este artefacto tiene un enchufe polarizado (una clavija es más amplia que la otra). Para reducir el riesgo de descargas eléctricas, este enchufe ha sido diseñado para encajar en un tomacorriente polarizado de una sola manera. Si el enchufe no entra completamente en la toma de corriente, invierta el enchufe. Si aún no encaja, póngase en contacto con un electricista calificado. No trate de modificar esta función de seguridad. • NO utilice el Unidad en áreas donde se use o almacene gasolina, pintura, o líquidos inflamables. NO utilice el Unidad en lugares donde se almacenan productos químicos inflamables o explosivos, o en ambientes húmedos. • No opere el Unidad con un cable o enchufe dañado, cuando tenga una falla o cuando se haya caído o dañado en alguna manera. Para desconectar el Unidad, APAGUE el Unidad y luego retire el enchufe de la toma de corriente. • Siempre desconecte el Unidad cuando no esté en uso. Desconecte el cable de corriente antes de realizar el mantenimiento al Unidad o moverlo. • No inserte ni permita que los dedos u objetos extraños ingresen en alguna apertura de la ventilación o el extractor, pues puede causar una descarga eléctrica o incendio, o dañar el Unidad. No bloquee ni intente forzar el Unidad en alguna manera mientras que está en funcionamiento. • No bloquee las entradas de aire o el extractor en alguna manera. No coloque sobre superficies blandas, como la cama, donde las aberturas pueden bloquearse. No dependa del interruptor de encendido y apagado como el único medio de desconectar la corriente cuando mueva o realice mantenimiento al Unidad. Siempre desconecte el cable de corriente. PRECAUCIÓN • Siempre coloque el unidad en una firme, plana y nivelada durante la operación para evitar la posibilidad de que el unidad se cae. Localice el cable de manera que el Unidad de ventilador o de otros objetos que no son los mismos. No coloque el cable de alimentación debajo de alfombras. NO cubra el cable con tapetes, caminos estrechos o elementos de cobertura similares, ya que puede causar el cable se sobrecaliente. Coloque el cable de alimentación alejado de las personas y donde no se pueda tropezar. • Este Unidad está CALIENTE cuando está en funcionamiento. Para evitar quemaduras, no permita que la piel desnuda toque las superficies calientes. Siempre use la agarradera cuando traslade este Unidad. Mantenga los materiales combustibles, tales como muebles, almohadas, ropa de cama, papeles, vestimenta y cortinas por lo menos a 3 pies (0.9 m) del frente del Unidad y manténgalos por lo menos a 1 pie (0.3 m) de los costados y de la parte trasera. • Este Unidad no está diseñado para ser usado en lugares húmedos o mojados. Este Unidad no está diseñado para usar en baños, áreas de lavandería o lugares interiores similares. NUNCA ubique un Unidad en un lugar donde podría caer dentro de una tina de baño o cualquier otro recipiente de agua. • No use Unidades al aire libre. • Este Unidad no es adecuado para usar en instalaciones de agricultura incluyendo áreas donde se almacene ganado, aves de corral u otros animales. Por favor consulte el Articulo 547-7 (2008) del Código Eléctrico Nacional (NEC), o los códigos o normas estatales o locales aplicables con relación a los requisitos eléctricos para edificios destinados a las agricultura. ESTE UNIDAD NO CUMPLE CON LOS REQUISITOS DEL ARTICULO 547-7 DEL NEC (2008). • Este Unidad no es adecuado para usar en lugares peligrosos. Por favor consulte el Artículo 500 del Código Eléctrico Nacional (NEC), o los códigos o normas estatales o locales aplicables con relación a los requisitos eléctricos para lugares peligrosos. ESTE UNIDAD NO CUMPLE CON LOS REQUISITOS DEL ARTICULO 500 (2008). NOTA: Este equipo ha sido probado y cumple con los límites para aparatos digitales Clase B, conforme a la Parte 15 de las Normas de la FCC. Estos límites están diseñados para brindar protección razonable contra la interferencia perjudicial en una instalación residencial. Este equipo genera, utiliza y puede irradiar energía de frecuencias de radio y, si no se instala y utiliza de conformidad con las instrucciones, puede causar interferencia perjudicial a las comunicaciones de radio. Sin embargo, no hay garantía de que la interferencia no ocurra en una instalación en particular. Si este equipo no causa interferencia perjudicial a la recepción de radio o televisión, lo cual se puede determinar al encender y apagar el equipo, el usuario puede intentar corregir la interferencia con una o más de las siguientes medidas: •Reorientar o reubicar la antena receptora. •Aumentar la separación entre el equipo y el receptor. Carefully remove the unit from the bag and the carton. For ease of assembly, lay the unit down so that the front grill and control panel are facing up. 2. Thread the Power Supply Cord through the large hole in the Base Assembly. NOTE: The Cord Channel on the bottom of the Base should be towards the back of the unit. (Figure 1) 3. Assemble the Base by snapping Sides A and B together. (Figure 1) 4 Attach Base to bottom of the unit. Using (4) Thumb Screws (supplied), fasten the Base to the unit. Plastic or rubber tabs, like the feet on this unit, may stick to furniture surfaces and/or hardwood floors. The unit may leave a residue that could darken, stain or leave permanent blemishes on the finish of certain furniture surfaces, including wood surfaces, and/or hardwood floors. 2. Plug the cord set into a 120 volt outlet. Be sure that the plug fits tightly into outlet. When plugs fit loosely into receptacles, they may slip partially or completely out of the receptacle with only the slight movement of the attached cord. Receptacles in this condition may overheat and pose a serious fire hazard; if covered by a curtain or drape, the fire hazard is even greater. 3. When the unit is initially plugged in, there will be a "beep" and the Power Light will come on indicating that there is power to the unit. The Power Light will remain lit until the unit is unplugged from the electrical outlet. 4. Turn the Heater ON by pressing the Heater Power Button ( ). 5. Upon turning the Heater on, the unit will be in High Heat (H3) (1500 Watts). (Figure 3). 6. Press the Heat Mode Button ( ) for Medium Heat (H2). Press again for Low Heat (H1). Press a third time for Heater Fan Mode (HF). This activates High Heat (H3) and Super Low Speed (F1) simultaneously. Press a fourth time to return to High Heat (H3). 7. To turn the Heater OFF, press the Heater Power Button ( ). 8. Turn the Fan ON by pressing the Fan Power Button ( ). 9. Upon turning the Fan on, the unit will be in High Speed (F4). 10. Press the Fan Mode Button ( ) for Medium Speed (F3). Press again for Low Speed (F2). Press a third time for Super Low Speed (F1). Press a fourth time to return to High Speed (F4). 11. To turn the Fan OFF, press the Fan Power Button ( ) and unplug the unit from the electrical outlet. AUTO ECO™ THERMOSTAT (Figure 4) Pressing the ( ) or ( ) buttons while in any Heater function or speed will turn on the Auto Eco™ function. 1. To set the room at a specific temperature press the ( ) or ( ) buttons to the desired temperature. The display will now reflect the Auto Eco™ symbol and the temperature will be flashing. The Heater is now in Auto Eco™ Mode. 2. When you reach the temperature at which you want to set the unit, the set temperature will flash several times and then the display will return to indicate the current room temperature and will gradually change as the room temperature changes. NOTE: the temperature display does not indicate the temperature of the heated air being emitted by the Heater. 3. Once the room temperature reaches 2 degrees above the set temperature, the Heater will shut off. The Heater will continue to run for 15 seconds after the element has turned off. 4. If the ambient temperature is equal to the SET temperature, the Heater will run in LOW heat. 5. If the ambient temperature is less then the SET temperature by more than 3 degrees, the Heater will run in HIGH heat. All of this happens automatically with Lasko Auto Eco™ Technology. To deactivate the Auto Eco™ function, turn the Heater off or press the ( ) button. NOTE: In Auto Eco™, the Heater will display the current room tempera- ture in ° Fahrenheit. Press the ( ) and ( ) buttons at the same time to change the display to ° Celsius. Press the same two buttons together again to change the display back to ° Fahrenheit. Figure 4 OSCILLATION With the unit on, press the Oscillation Button ( ) to start and stop the oscillation function. The oscillation function can be used in any speed and/or timer mode. TIMER FUNCTION (Figure 5) The timer function may be activated when the unit display is in any function or speed. This function allows you to set the length of time the unit will run before turning itself off, from 1 hour to 8 hours. Pressing the Timer Button ( ) will increase the length of time by 1 hour each time this button is pressed. After the display reflects 8 hours, pressing the Timer Button ( ) once more will reset the unit to run continuously. The unit will turn off when the set time has elapsed. The unit can be turned back on by pressing either Power Button ( ). Figure 3 NEW 7/18 Figure 5 EZCLICK™ FILTER SYSTEM Press the EZclick™ Filter button to release the cover for the permanent filter. Clean the filter with a vacuum equipped with a brush attachment every two weeks; this will help to maintain the optimum filter performance. Remember to clean the filter before storing at the end of the season. 3 FH500ES
