11. Install the new power-supply assembly into the chassis so that the screw holes in the power-supply assembly align with those in the chassis. Note: Use only the screws provided by Lenovo. 12. Install and tighten the four screws at the rear of the chassis to secure the power-supply assembly. 13. Check the position of the voltage-selection switch on the rear of the computer. Use a ballpoint pen to slide the switch, if necessary. Note: Some computers do not have a voltage switch. These computers automatically control the voltage. • If the voltage supply range is 100-127 V ac, set the switch to 115 V. • If the voltage supply range is 200-240 V ac, set the switch to 230 V. 14. Reconnect all the power supply cables to the drives and the system board. 15. Go to "Completing the FRU replacement" on page 141. Replacing the system board Important The heat sink and microprocessor might be very hot. Make sure these components are cool enough to safely handle before continuing this procedure. Note: When replacing the system board you must also order a new retention module for the new system board or remove the retention module from the failing system board and install it on the new system board. This procedure describes how to remove and replace the system board. 1. Open the computer cover. See "Opening the cover" on page 122. 2. Pivot the drive-bay assembly upward to gain access to the heat sink. Chapter 10. Replacing FRUs (Types 7066, 7098, 9352, 9359, 9482, 9487, 9622, 9704, 9785, 9794, 9807, 9859, 9952) 129
