Elsewhere, these drives are certified to conform to the requirements of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 60825-1 and CENELEC EN 60825-1 for Class 1 laser products. Class 1 laser products are not considered hazardous. The design of the laser system and the optical storage drive ensures that there is no exposure to laser radiation above a Class 1 level during normal operation, user maintenance, or servicing. When a CD or DVD drive is installed, note the following handling instructions. DANGER Use of controls, adjustments, or performance of procedures other than those specified herein might result in hazardous radiation exposure. Do not remove the drive covers. Removing the covers of the CD or DVD drive could result in exposure to hazardous laser radiation.
