B. Configuring the Print Server To enable SCS printing, several print server settings may need to be changed. You can make these changes from the printer operator panel. 1 Set NPA Mode to Auto. Select Menus > Network/Ports. Select the print server to be used for SCS printing, for example Standard Network, Network 1, or Network 2. Locate NPA Mode and scroll to the Auto setting. Touch Submit to save. This setting will ensure that the printer's LAN connection will detect the Card. 2 Set the Network Job Timeout. This timeout is used by all print servers. Select Menus > Settings > General Settings> Timeouts > Network Job Timeout. Scroll down to 0. Touch Submit to save. Option Value Network Job 0 Timeout Description This is the recommended setting and corresponds to "disabled". Other settings may cause communication problems. A setting of "0" allows the host or SNA server timeout values to control when print jobs from another protocol, interface, server, or host can be started.
