Connecting Power Plug the end of the vehicle power adapter into a 12 VDC vehicle power receptacle. Connect the other end of the cable to the Magellan Maestro as shown. If there is power at the receptacle, the Magellan Maestro should power on. (Note: some vehicles apply power to the vehicle power receptacle only when the ignition is on.) Connect the FM antenna cable to the FM input connector. Route the cable along the base of the windshield and use the suction cups to hold it in place. Check Connection and Final Adjustments If the power indicator light on the vehicle power cable connector is on, power is being supplied to the Magellan Maestro. If it is not on, check the cable connection to the vehicle power receptacle. If the light is still not on, turn the vehicle's ignition on. Press the power button (located on the top of the Maestro) and hold down for a few seconds. The Magellan Maestro will power on. Sit in a normal driving position and make any final adjustments to the swivel mount for optimum viewing. Tighten the adjusting knobs on the swivel mount to hold the Magellan Maestro firmly in place. Press the power button again to turn the Magellan Maestro off and turn the ignition switch to the vehicle to off. The Magellan Maestro is connected and ready for use. Security It is recommended that the Magellan Maestro is not left in plain view while unattended for reasons of theft. Please note that the Magellan Maestro is a receiver only and does not transmit GPS location signals. The receiver nor the vehicle can be tracked using the Magellan Maestro. Region By default, the Magellan Maestro has the region setting for the lower 48 United States. When the receiver is turned on for the first time it may ask you to assign regions. Select the map region you want to use by tapping on the item from the list. If you are travelling in other regions you will need to change the map region by using the following steps. 1 From the Main Menu, tap on the right arrow to access the second page of the Main Menu. 2 Tap on User Options. 3 Tap on Region. 4 Tap on the map region desired. The Region option will display the map regions that are available for the Magellan Maestro you are using. Installation 5

Installation

Connecting Power
Plug the end of the vehicle power adapter into a
12 VDC vehicle power receptacle.
Connect the
other end of the cable to the Magellan Maestro as
shown.
If there is power at the receptacle, the
Magellan Maestro should power on.
(Note: some
vehicles apply power to the vehicle power
receptacle only when the ignition is on.)
Connect the FM antenna cable to the FM input
connector.
Route the cable along the base of the
windshield and use the suction cups to hold it in
place.
Check Connection and Final Adjustments
If the power indicator light on the vehicle power cable connector is on, power is being supplied to the
Magellan Maestro.
If it is not on, check the cable connection to the vehicle power receptacle.
If the
light is still not on, turn the vehicle’s ignition on.
Press the power button (located on the top of the Maestro) and hold down for a few seconds.
The
Magellan Maestro will power on.
Sit in a normal driving position and make any final adjustments to
the swivel mount for optimum viewing.
Tighten the adjusting knobs on the swivel mount to hold the
Magellan Maestro firmly in place.
Press the power button again to turn the Magellan Maestro off and turn the ignition switch to the
vehicle to off.
The Magellan Maestro is connected and ready for use.
Security
It is recommended that the Magellan Maestro is not left in plain view while unattended for reasons of
theft.
Please note that the Magellan Maestro is a receiver only and does not transmit GPS location signals.
The receiver nor the vehicle can be tracked using the Magellan Maestro.
Region
By default, the Magellan Maestro has the region setting for the lower 48 United States.
When the
receiver is turned on for the first time it may ask you to assign regions.
Select the map region you
want to use by tapping on the item from the list.
If you are travelling in other regions you will need to change the map region by using the following
steps.
