Infrared The phone has an infrared port that you can use for connecting your phone to another IrDA-compliant device. Over an infrared connection, you can transfer, for example, business cards and calendar notes. To activate the infrared port: Press Menu in standby mode, and select Connectivity and Infrared. Do not point the IR (infrared) beam at anyone's eye or allow it to interfere with other IR devices. This device is a Class 1 Laser product. Sending and receiving data via infrared • Ensure that the infrared ports of your phone and the other device are pointing at each other and that there are no obstructions between the devices. The preferable distance between the two devices in an infrared connection is one meter at the most. • To receive data, activate the infrared port by accessing this menu. • To send data from your phone, select the function from which you want to send data over the infrared connection. For example, to send a calendar note when you are viewing it in the Calendar menu, press Options and select Send note and Via infrared.
