Recording Recommended settings by recording condition The recorder is initially set to the [ST XQ] mode so that you can make high quality stereo recordings immediately after purchasing it. The various functions relating to recording can be configured in detail to suit the recording conditions. Recommended settings Recording condition Recording Mode (☞ P.36, P.38) Microphone Sensitivity Low Cut Filter (☞ P.23 or P.36, P.38) (☞ P.36, P.39) 2 Conferences with large crowds and lectures in large [ST XQ] rooms. Meetings and business negotiations with a small number of people. [ST XQ] [ST HQ] [HQ] [CONF] or [Conference] [On] Dictation with a [ST XQ] lot of background [ST HQ] noise. [HQ] [DICT] or [Dictation] Music playing, wild birds singing, and [ST XQ] railway sounds. Set the microphone sensitivity according to the volume being recorded.
