FM transmitter You can enjoy listening to discs or SD cards through your FM radio channel (e.g. car stereo) by transmitting audio signals from this unit. p The FM transmitter can also be used with normal FM radio-equipped devices. Preparation: Unplug headphones and audio/video cable from the unit. p When connected, the FM transmitter will not work. 1 Play the disc or SD card. (➜ page 12 or page 14) 2 Press to display '.5. the menu. FM TRANSMITTER ON OFF STEREO MONO 88.3 MHz If the menu is not displayed, check the "Preparation" steps listed above. 3 Press [ ] to select "ON". ENTER The orange lamp next to the [FM-TM] button lights up. '.5. Enjoying in a car p No sound is heard from this unit. For the volume on this unit, set the on screen volume level using the following indications. - DVD movies: the far right side - Others:near the middle The above settings are to be used only as a rough estimate. Depending on the recording conditions of the disc or card, the actual appropriate volume level may differ. If the volume is inappropriate in step 5, readjust the volume. 4 Tune the radio to the 88.3 MHz FM frequency. When another FM broadcast is heard. (➜ see below, "When this has not been successful") 5 Adjust the volume using the radio. To turn off the FM transmitter : Press [FM-TM] and then [ ] to select "OFF". To exit the screen: Press [FM-TM]. When this has not been successful 1 '.5. Press to display the menu. 2 Press [] to select the frequency ("88.3 MHz") (factory preset) . ENTER Press [ ] , to select a frequency between 88.3 MHz and 107.7 MHz which is not being used by any broadcasting stations. pThe frequency can be set in 0.1 MHz increments. 3 Tune the FM radio into the frequency selected in step 2. RQT8237 p If you experience noise or distortion of audio, move the radio antenna closer to the unit. Or select "MONO" from the menu screen using [ ]. If the audio quality still does not improve, then change the radio frequency (➜ above, "When this has not been successful"). 31 31
