OPC Home Sensor There are two kinds of OPC driving motors; for Bk and for CMY. Just after the motor starts rotating, OPC phase difference is not constant between these motors because of the difference of rotation start timing, rotation stop timing, PC torque, etc. The phase difference can cause color registration. Therefore each driving unit of Bk and CMY is equipped with this sensor to detect the OPC phase difference. When Bk OPC is in the home position, the flag coupled with OPC shields the light. Then phototransistor turns OFF causing IC600B12 to turn to High level. On the other hand when Bk OPC is not in the home position, the phototransistor turns ON causing IC600-B12 to turn to Low level. Similarly IC600-C12 becomes High level when YMC OPC is in the home position, and it becomes Low level when YMC OPC is not in the home position.
