Pennant stitch Pennant stitch is one of the many covering stitches. Since it can be stretched it is parti cularly suitable for overstitching the bands on elastic material e.g. sweat shirts or sports wear. - Sew the band onto the part with overlock stitch. - The seam allowance can now be over stitched from the right side of the fabric. Make sure that the needle enters in the shadow of the seam. 45
