MSC [Mass Storage Class] The USB mass storage device class (or USB MSC or UMS) is a set of computing communications protocols that provide an interface to storage devices. Devices that support this standard are referred to as MSC (Mass Storage Class) devices. MTP [Media Transfer Protocol] Media Transfer Protocol supports the transfer of music and video files to portable audio and video players. R Rhapsody® Rhapsody® is an on-line music service that offers streaming on-demand access to its library of digital music. Rip (ripping) Using a software program that "grabs" digital audio from a compact disc and transfers it to a computer hard drive. The integrity of the data is preserved, because the signal does not pass through the computer sound card, and need not be converted to an analog format.
