06 TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEM Oven smokes excessively during broiling. Food does not bake or roast properly. Food does not broil properly. POSSIBLE CAUSE The control has not been set properly. SOLUTION • Refer to the section on setting oven controls. • Make sure the oven door is opened to the broil stop position. The meat has been placed too close to the element. • Reposition the rack to provide proper clearance between the meat and the element. Preheat the broil element for searing.
