Convenient Functions 57 Sleep Timer Function You can set the time that the Home Theater will shut itself off. Press SLEEP button. • " " will be displayed. Each time the button is pressed, the preset time changes as follows: 10 ➝ 20 ➝ 30 ➝ 60 ➝ 90 ➝ 120 ➝ 150 ➝ OFF. To confirm the sleep timer setting, press SLEEP button. •The remaining time before the Home Theater will shut itself off is displayed. •Pressing the button again changes the sleep time from what you have set earlier. To cancel the sleep timer, press SLEEP button until OFF appears on the display. Adjusting Display Brightness You can adjust the brightness of the display on the main unit so it won't interfere with your movie viewing. Press DIMMER button. • Each time the button is pressed, the brightness changes as follows: DARK ➞ BRIGHT. Mute Function This is useful when answering a doorbell or telephone call. Press MUTE button. • appears in the display. • To restore the sound, press the button again. V-SOUND(Virtual Sound) The 2-channel sounds can be listened with virtual effects for producing much more realistic sounds as in 5.1 channels. Press V-SOUND button. • Each time the button is pressed, the selection changes as follows: VIRTUAL SOUND ONE ➞ VIRTUAL SOUND TWO ➞ VIRTUAL SOUND OFF. Virtual Headphone Function Use headphones (not supplied) for private listening pleasure. You can enjoy dynamic sound effects similar to that of 5.1 channel surround sound using conventional stereo headphones. 1 Plug the headphones into the headphone jack. • You can purchase headphones from most Electronics stores. ENG MISCELLANEOUS 2 Press V-H/P button. • Each time the button is pressed, the selection alternates between V.HP and OFF. • V.HP(VIRTUAL HEADPHONE ON) : Select to enjoy a 5.1-channel surround sound that gives the feeling of being in a baseball park or concert hall. • OFF(VIRTUAL HEADPHONE OFF) : Select to listen to a standard 2-channel stereo sound. Note • Do not listen at extremely high volume levels when using headphones. Extended, high-volume listening can lead to permanent hearing loss. 58
