Using In-call options Press to access the following options during a call: • Loudspeaker/Loudspeaker off: turn on the Speakerphone feature or switch back to Normal mode. • Switch to headset/Switch to phone: switch the call to a Bluetooth headset or hands-free car kit or back to the phone.p. 72 • Join: set up a multi-party call by adding a caller on hold to a currently active call. You can include up to 5 people on a multi-party call. • Split: have a private conversation with one multi-party call participant. The other participants can converse with each other. After the private conversation, select Join to return both private participants to the multi-party call. • Drop: access the following options: Drop call: disconnect one of the multi-party call participants. Drop active call: disconnect the active call. Drop held call: disconnect the call currently on hold. • Transfer: transfer the currently active call to a caller on hold. The two callers can talk to each other, but you are disconnected from the call. • Mute/Unmute: switch off the phone's microphone so that the other person on the phone cannot hear you, or switch it back on. • Mute key tone/Unmute key tone: turn the key tones off or on. To communicate with answering machines or computerised telephone systems, Unmute key tone must be selected. • New call: make a new voice call. • Contacts: locate or store contacts in Contacts. • Send text message: create a new SMS message. • Send DTMF: send DTMF (Dual tone multifrequency) tones as a group. The DTMF tones are the tones used in phones for tone dialling, sounding when you press the number keys. This option is helpful for entering a password or an account number when you call an automated system, like a banking service. • Memo: create a memo. • End call/End calls: disconnect the call currently on hold, active call, or all calls. 26
