26 Cheetah 9LP Product Manual, Rev. C 6.4.4.2 Vibration a. Operating - normal The drive as installed for normal operation, shall comply with the complete specified performance while subjected to continuous vibration not exceeding 5-350 Hz @ 0.5 G Vibration may be applied in the X, Y, or Z axis. b. Operating - abnormal Equipment as installed for normal operation shall not incur physical damage while subjected to periodic vibration not exceeding: 15 minutes of duration at major resonant frequency 5-350 Hz @ 0.75 G (X, Y, or Z axis) Vibration occuring at these levels may degrade operational performance during the abnormal vibration period. Specified operational performance will continue when normal operating vibration levels are resumed. This assumes system recovery routines are available. c. Non-operating The limits of non-operating vibration shall apply to all conditions of handling and transportation. This includes both isolated drives and integrated drives. The drive shall not incur physical damage or degraded performance as a result of continuous vibration not exceeding 5-22 Hz @ 0.040 inches (1.02 mm) displacement 22-400 Hz @ 2.00 G Vibration may be applied in the X, Y, or Z axis. 6.4.5 Air cleanliness The drive is designed to operate in a typical office environment with minimal environmental control. 6.4.6 Acoustics Sound power during idle mode shall be 4.4 bels typical when measured to ISO 7779 specification. There will not be any discrete tones more than 10 dB above the masking noise on typical drives when measured according to Seagate specification 30553-001. There will not be any tones more than 24 dB above the masking noise on any drive. 6.4.7 Electromagnetic susceptibility See Section 2.1.2.

Cheetah 9LP Product Manual, Rev. C
6.4.4.2
Vibration
a.
Operating - normal
The drive as installed for normal operation, shall comply with the complete specified performance while
subjected to continuous vibration not exceeding
5-350 Hz @ 0.5 G
Vibration may be applied in the X, Y, or Z axis.
b.
Operating - abnormal
Equipment as installed for normal operation shall not incur physical damage while subjected to periodic
vibration not exceeding:
15 minutes of duration at major resonant frequency
5-350 Hz @ 0.75 G (X, Y, or Z axis)
Vibration occuring at these levels may degrade operational performance during the abnormal vibration
period. Specified operational performance will continue when normal operating vibration levels are
resumed. This assumes system recovery routines are available.
c. Non-operating
The limits of non-operating vibration shall apply to all conditions of handling and transportation. This
includes both isolated drives and integrated drives.
The drive shall not incur physical damage or degraded performance as a result of continuous vibration not
exceeding
5-22 Hz @ 0.040 inches (1.02 mm) displacement
22-400 Hz @ 2.00 G
Vibration may be applied in the X, Y, or Z axis.
6.4.5
Air cleanliness
The drive is designed to operate in a typical office environment with minimal environmental control.
6.4.6
Acoustics
Sound power during idle mode shall be 4.4 bels typical when measured to ISO 7779 specification.
There will not be any discrete tones more than 10 dB above the masking noise on typical drives when mea-
sured according to Seagate specification 30553-001. There will not be any tones more than 24 dB above the
masking noise on any drive.
