BYPASS FEED (special paper) 2 Set the paper guides to the copy paper width. MAKING COPIES 3 Insert the copy paper (print face down) all the way into the bypass tray. G For the number of sheets which can be loaded into the tray, see the previous page. G When adding paper, first remove any paper remaining in the tray, combine it with the paper to be added and then reload as a single stack. The paper to be added must be the same size and type as the paper already in the tray. G When loading envelopes, make sure that they are straight and flat and do not have loosely glued construction flaps (not the closure flap). 4 Press the PAPER SELECT key to select the bypass tray. NOTE: When copying onto paper that is fed from the bypass tray, the print start position in the vertical direction can be adjusted as follows. Press the SPECIAL FUNCTION key. Use the and key to select "EXTRA IMAGE ADJ." and then press the OK key. Use the and key to adjust the print start position to the front (+) or to the rear (-). Press the OK key. The position can be adjusted from -0.5 inch to +0.5 inch in 0.02 inch increments. This feature can be used only for extra size paper (indicated as "EXTRA" in the display) placed in the bypass tray and cannot be used for standard size paper. SPECIAL FUNCTION ORIG. Set the paper guides to the copy paper width.

Insert the copy paper (print face down) all the way into the bypass
tray.
For the number of sheets which can be loaded into the tray, see the previous page.
When adding paper, first remove any paper remaining in the tray, combine it with the
paper to be added and then reload as a single stack. The paper to be added must be the
same size and type as the paper already in the tray.
When loading envelopes, make sure that they are straight and flat and do not have
loosely glued construction flaps (not the closure flap).

NOTE:
When copying onto paper that is fed from the bypass tray, the print start position in the vertical
direction can be adjusted as follows. Press the SPECIAL FUNCTION key. Use the

start position to the front (+) or to the rear (-). Press the OK key. The position can be adjusted
from -0.5 inch to +0.5 inch in 0.02 inch increments.
