Fold under 1" and baste in place. Position fabric with wrong side facing up, and turn the hem back to the right side, creating a soft fold at the top edge of the hem. The bulk of the fabric is to the left of the foot. Begin stitching, making sure the forward stitches fall near the ¼" fold, and the needle swing just bites into the fold, catching only 2 or 3 threads. Note: Always use matching thread to help "hide" the stitches. 22
