Seam and Overcasting Stitch Patterns (Modes 1 and 3) Overcasting stitches are used to finish the edges of fabric to prevent fraying. The SINGER® Studio™ S18 sewing machine is equipped with overedge feet designed to create beautiful and flat seam finishes. Multiple zigzag stitch pattern 09 Machine Setting Stitch pattern: Thread tension: Presser foot: Foot pressure: 09 (Mode 1) 3-7 General purpose foot A 3 This stitch is used to finish a raw edge on synthetics and other stretch fabrics that tend to pucker. The three short stitches created by this stitch pattern make it ideal for mending tears, applying patches and inserting elastic. Sew along the fabric edge leaving an adequate seam allowance. After sewing, trim the seam allowance close to the stitches. 33

This stitch is used to finish a raw edge on synthetics and
other stretch fabrics that tend to pucker.
The three short
stitches created by this stitch pattern make it ideal for
mending tears, applying patches and inserting elastic.
Sew along the fabric edge leaving an adequate seam
allowance.
After sewing, trim the seam allowance close to
the stitches.
