Preparing a Power Source Charge the built-in lithium-ion rechargeable battery before using it for the first time or when it is depleted. 1 Slide the BUILT-IN BATTERY switch to ON. The protection for the built-in rechargeable battery is released and power is supplied to the player. Keep the switch to ON position. 3 Place the player on the USB cradle. Insert the player as shown below until it clicks into place. Charging of the battery starts. The CHG lamp lights up on the USB cradle, and if the player is on, the battery indicator in the display changes. When the player display is on, it takes approximately 6 hours to charge up to 80%. The charging time will differ depending on the remaining power and battery condition. If the battery is charged in a low-temperature environment, the charging time will be longer. 8
