If you press a key or the power button while the computer is entering Standby or Hibernate mode, then the operating system may become unstable and prevent the computer from entering either power saving mode. To restore the computer to normal operating stability 1 Close all open programs. 2 Restart the computer. Follow these steps: 1 Press the Windows key . 2 Press U. 3 Press R to select restart. 3 If the computer does not restart, follow these steps: 1 Press the Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys simultaneously. The Windows Task Manager window appears. 2 Press and release Alt to highlight the menu bar, and press the Right Arrow key to select Shut Down. 3 Press Enter. 4 Press R to select restart. 4 If this procedure does not work, press and hold the power button until the computer turns off. 36
