Symptom Cause The player does not start • No disc is inserted. playback. • An unplayable disc is inserted. Playback does not follow the course of the disc's program. Buttons do not work. The remote control does not work properly. • The disc is inserted upside down. • The disc is not inserted securely. • The disc is dirty. • The parental lock function is set. • It is in the repeat playback mode, memory playback, etc. • Power supply fluctuations or other abnormalities such as static electricity may interrupt correct operation. • The remote control is not pointed at the remote sensor of the player. • The remote control is too far from the player. • The batteries in the remote control are exhausted. • The player's remote sensor is exposed to a strong light source such as direct sunlight or other illumination. Correction • Insert a disc. • Insert a playable disc. (Check the disc type, color system and region number.) • Insert the disc with the playback side down. • Insert the disc securely in the disc holder. • Clean the disc. • Change the parental lock level. • These operations may prevent a proper progression of the contents. • Turn the power off then turn it on. Or disconnect the AC adapter and insert it into the wall outlet again. • Point the remote control at the remote sensor of the player. • Operate the remote control within about 9.9 feet (3 m). • Replace the batteries with new ones. • Avoid the player from being exposed to a strong light source.
