Chapter 2 Serial ATA Connectors: SATA1 and SATA2 These next generation connectors support the thin Serial ATA cables for primary internal storage devices. The current Serial ATA interface allows up to 150MB/s data transfer rate, faster than the standard parallel ATA with 133 MB/s (Ultra DMA). SATA1-2 USB Pin Connector: USB 4-7 The mainboard provides 1 front USB pin header, allowing up to 4 additional USB2.0 ports up to maximum throughput of 480 Mbps. Connect each 2-port USB cable into this pin header. This port can be used to connect high-speed USB interface peripherals such as USB HDD, digital cameras, MP3 players, printers, modem and the like.
