System Recovery If your Media Center hard drive has problems that require a full system recovery, do the following: 1 Turn on the Media Center. 2 When the ViewSonic birds logo appears, press the F1 key until the Bios Setup Utility screen appears. 3 Press the Right Arrow key to select the "Boot Option" screen. 4 Press the Down Arrow key until "Boot Device Priority" is highlighted, and press the Enter key. The "Boot" screen will appear. 5 CONDITON 1: If the First Boot Drive is "Hard Drive" then press the Down Arrow key until the "Second Boot Device" is highlighted. Then hold down the Shift key and press the "+" key (next to the Backspace key). The First Boot Drive should now be "ATAPI CD-ROM." Insert "Recovery CD 1" and press the F10 key to save and exit." CONDITON 2: If the First Boot Drive is "ATAPI CD-ROM" then insert "Recovery CD 1" and press the F10 key to save and exit." 6 Follow the on-screen instructions to begin the recovery process.
