When contacting Technical Support, have the following information ready: • The serial number of your My Book VelociRaptor Duo device • Date of purchase • The serial number of each internal hard drive you need to replace See steps 1 through 8 of the following procedure for removing the drive to see the serial number. Removing and Replacing the Drive Your My Book VelociRaptor Duo dual-drive storage device is a limited user-serviceable device. You can easily replace the hard drives inside the enclosure. Important: Only use WD VelociRaptor® hard drive assemblies to replace the drives in your My Book VelociRaptor Duo device enclosure. Using any other hard drive assembly voids the warranty for your My Book VelociRaptor Duo device. After receiving the replacement drive, replace the failed drive as follows: 1. If the device is still operational, safely dismount the drives from your computer. 2. Important: To avoid electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage, ground yourself by touching a grounded metal object before handling the device. 3. Disconnect the Thunderbolt cables from the Thunderbolt ports on the back of the device enclosure. 4. Disconnect the AC adapter cable from the power connector. 5.
