To advance or reverse play rapidly (MANUAL SEARCH) To advance rapidly SEARCH (press and hold) To reverse rapidly q The sound can be heard (although slightly garbled) during manual search in either direction. This is convenient for locating a precise position within a track, or for reviewing the contents quickly. q Manual search can also be performed while disc play is paused, though no sound will be heard. SEARCH (press and hold) Scanning discs to search for a desired disc (or to check discs on the disc tray) When the DISC SCAN button is pressed while this unit is stopped, this unit will play an early part of each disc in turn. DISC Each disc is played for 8 seconds. SCAN If, during this play, you hear a disc that you want to listen to in entirely, press this button once again, or press the PLAY button on the remote control transmitter. This will cancel this play mode and the unit will enter into the normal play mode. Notes q During this play, the disc tray numbers flash on and off on the display. Every time the play of a disc is finished, the corresponding tray number is changed from flashing to lighting. q There may be a case that you can gain no sound with this play, if the disc has a long blank space between tracks, for example. q Durng this play, the setting of the disc play mode (MODE), the program play mode, etc. are canceled temporarily. Selecting time displays You can select any of the four time displays by pressing the TIME display mode-select button. Œ Elapsed time of the track now playing  Total remaining time on the disc  Remaining time of the track now playing Ž Total disc play time Note The remaining time  will not be displayed for track number 21 or higher. 9

Manual search can also be performed while disc play is
