MIDI Functions External Clock Connecting the instrument by MIDI cable to an external MIDI device, such as a sequencer, time based functions (song playback, etc.) must be controlled by the internal clock (OFF) or an external clock (ON). When the internal clock (OFF) is enabled, timing will be controlled by the instrument's internal clock. When an external clock (ON) selected, time based functions will be controlled by the sequencer's or computer's clock. ECL 1 Enter the External Clock setting function. Press the [FUNCTION] button once, then press the [DRUM 3] or [BACKING] button a number of times until the "ECL" item appears. After a while, the current ON/OFF status appears next to the "ECL" indication. oFF on 2 Turn External Clock ON/OFF. Turn the dial clockwise to set to ON, and turn it counter-clockwise to set it to OFF. NOTE • Default setting is OFF. 3 Press the [FUNCTION] button to exit from the Function mode.
