Connecting External Devices Using a Pedal ([FOOT PEDAL] jack) You can connect a volume-type pedal (FC7, sold separately) to the HD-300 to control certain functions. FC7 (sold separately) One of these functions can be assigned to the foot pedal: volume control, [HOLD] button, [START/STOP] button or [REC] button. To assign the function to the pedal, change the value of the [SETTING] button → "Foot Pedal" (page 31). NOTE • A switch-type foot pedal cannot be used. • Always turn off the power before inserting or removing plug. Connecting a USB Flash Drive (USB [TO DEVICE] terminal) NOTICE Before using a USB flash drive, make sure to read through "Precautions when using the USB [TO DEVICE] terminal" on page 7. When connecting a USB flash drive to the instrument, the recording function (page 26) will be available for use. You can obtain a list of tested devices from the website below. At the website's "Support" page, select your country, click on "Document and Data," and then search for "HD-300." https://download.yamaha.com NOTE A USB flash drive cannot be formatted on the instrument. If the USB flash drive needs formatting, format it in FAT32 format on a computer. Connecting to a Computer (USB [TO HOST] terminal) Use the USB [TO HOST] terminal to connect to a computer and transmit audio and MIDI signals to and from the computer. You can use this to record audio from the HD-300 in high quality, and control the HD-300 by sending MIDI signals from a PC. NOTE Before connecting to a computer using the USB [TO HOST] terminal, make sure to read the "Precautions when using the USB [TO HOST] terminal" on page 7. Preparations  Windows Windows users need to use the "Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver." Download the driver from the following website and install it on your computer. Using a Pedal ([FOOT PEDAL] jack)
You can connect a volume-type pedal (FC7, sold separately) to the HD-300 to control certain functions.
One of these functions can be assigned to the foot pedal: volume control, [HOLD] button, [START/STOP] button or
[REC] button.
To assign the function to the pedal, change the value of the [SETTING] button → “Foot Pedal” (page 31).
NOTE
A switch-type foot pedal cannot be used.
