Ignition Positions LOCK (B): Before you put the key in, your ignition will be in the LOCK position. With a steering column C shift lever,this position locks your ignition, steering wheel and transaxle. With the console shift lever, this position locks your ignition and steering wheel. It's a theft-deterrent feature. I A E With the key in the ignition switch, you cann the tr u switch tofive different positions: ACCESSORY (A): This position lets you use things like the radio and the windshield wipers when the sngine is off.To use this position, push in the key and turn it toward you.Your steering wheel will remain locked, just as it was before you inserted the key. OFF (C): This position lets you turn the engine but off still turn the steering wheel.It doesn't lock the steering wheel likeLOCK. Use OFF if you must have your car in motion while the engine is off. RUN (D): This position is where the key returns after you start your engine and release the switch. The switch stays inRUN when the engine running. But even is when the engine not running, you can use RUN to is operate your electrical power accessories. START (E): This key position starts your engine. When the engine starts, release the key. ignition switch The will return to RUN for driving. Note that evenif the engine is not running, ACCESSORY and RUN are positions that allow you to operate your electrical accessories, such as the radio.
