To adjust for compass variance, do the following: 1. Find the current location and variance zone number on the following zone map. 3. Once a zone number appears in the display, press the COMPASS button (or the on/off button for mirrors equipped with OnStar® controls) quickly until the correct zone number appears in the display. If C appears in the compass window, the compass may need calibration. See "Compass Calibration" explained previously. Outside Manual Mirrors If the vehicle has manual outside mirrors, adjust them by hand so that the side of the vehicle can be seen while you are sitting in a comfortable driving position. The mirrors can be folded inward to prevent damage when going through an automatic car wash. To fold, push the mirror toward the vehicle. To return the mirror to its original position, push outward. Return both mirrors to the unfolded position before driving. 2. Press and hold COMPASS (or the on/off button for mirrors equipped with OnStar® controls) until a zone number appears in the display. 2-36
