Scheduled Maintenance Guide SPECIAL OPERATING CONDITIONS If you operate your vehicle primarily in any of the following conditions, you need to perform additional maintenance as indicated. If you occasionally operate your vehicle under any of these conditions, it is not necessary to perform the additional maintenance. For specific recommendations, see your dealership service advisor or technician. Extensive idling and/or low-speed driving for long distances as in heavy commercial use such as delivery, taxi, patrol car or livery Inspect frequently, service as - Replace cabin air filter (if equipped) required - Replace engine air filter Every 5,000 miles (8,000 km) - Inspect brake system - Rotate tires, inspect tires for wear and measure tread depth - Inspect the wheels and related components for abnormal noise, wear, looseness or drag - Lubricate control arm and steering ball joints (if equipped with grease fittings) Every 5,000 miles (8,000 km) or - Inspect and lubricate U-joints 6 months Every 5,000 miles (8,000 km), - Change engine oil and filter 6 months or 200 hours of engine operation Operating in dusty conditions such as unpaved or dusty roads Inspect frequently, service as - Replace cabin air filter (if equipped) required - Replace engine air filter Every 5,000 miles (8,000 km) - Rotate tires, inspect tires for wear and measure tread depth - Inspect the wheels and related components for abnormal noise, wear, looseness or drag Every 5,000 miles (8,000 km) or - Change engine oil and filter 6 months - Inspect and lubricate U-joints Every 50,000 miles (80,000 km) - Change manual transmission fluid 47 2012 05+ Mustang (197) Supplement, 1st Printing USA (fus)
