STARTING A DIESEL ENGINE
WARNINGS
Do not use starting fluid, for example
ether, in the air intake system (see
air filter decal). Starting fluids could
cause immediate explosive damage to the
engine. Failure to follow this warning could
result in fire, serious personal injury or
death.
Do not add gasoline, gasohol, alcohol
or Kerosene to diesel fuel. This action
creates a serious fire hazard and will
result in poor engine performance. Engine
damage caused by the use of incorrect fuel
is not covered by the vehicle warranty.
Note:
Avoid shutting the engine down after
an extensive idling period. Drive your vehicle
for several miles with the engine at normal
operating temperatures under a moderate
load.
