jPRE-RIDE CHECK 73 □ BATTERY TERMINALS - Check the battery terminal screws for tightness, and make sure terminal covers are in place. □ DRAIN BILGE - Drain any water out of the engine WARNING Loose battery cables can create sparks which can cause a fire or explosion resulting in injury or death. Make sure the battery terminal screws are tightened securely and the covers are installed over the terminals. compartment by removing the drain screws. Refill if necessary. □ ENGINE OIL LEVEL - Check the oil level in the engine. Refill if necessary. Refer to GENERAL INFORMATION CHAPTER, Engine Oil section. □ FUEL LEAKS - Check the engine compartment for fuel leaks. □ OIL LEAKS - Check the engine compartment for oil leaks. □ FASTENERS - Check and tighten any loose bolts, nuts, or clamps. □ HOSE CONNECTIONS - Be sure all hose connections are secure and that all hose clamps are tight. Check all hoses for cracks or deterioration and replace if necessary. NOTICE To prevent overheating resulting in engine and exhaust system damage, do not run the engine with the watercraft out of the water for more than 15 seconds at a time. Never operate the engine at maximum speed out of the water. □ STOP BUTTON - Again start the engine, run it for a few seconds, and then check that the engine "STOP" button works. □ SEATS - Check that the seat latches are secure.

BATTERY TERMINALS - Check the battery termi-
nal screws for tightness, and make sure terminal
covers are in place.
WARNING

guisher is fully charged.
□
