Opening, closing and locking the doors and trunk CAUTION n Jam protection function (vehicles with a power trunk opener and closer only) l Never try using any part of your body to activate the jam protection function intentionally. l The jam protection function may not work if something gets caught just before 1 the trunk lid fully closes. n When opening the trunk lid (vehicles with a power trunk opener and closer only) Before driving Remove any heavy loads, such as snow, on the trunk lid before opening it. Failure to do so may cause the trunk lid to fall down due to the load after it opens. n Operating the power trunk opener and closer Do not allow a child to open or close the trunk lid. Doing so may cause the trunk lid to operate unexpectedly and part of the child's body may become caught. NOTICE n To prevent trunk closer malfunction Do not apply force to the trunk lid while the trunk closer is operating. 29
