Opening, closing and locking the doors CAUTION n Operating the power back door l Check to make sure that passengers do not have any part of their body in a posi- tion where it could be caught or hit when the back door is being operated l Careful attention is needed so as not to get your fingers trapped as the back door automatically closes when it has not been fully closed. l Do not allow children to operate the back door. Closing the back door on someone can cause serious injury, and in some instances, even death. n Jam protection function (vehicles with power back door) l Never try jamming any part of your body to activate the jam protection function intentionally. l The jam protection function may not work if something gets caught just before the back door is fully closed. n Back door closer (vehicle with power back door) When the back door is not completely closed, the back door easy closer will automatically close it. Be careful not to catch your fingers or anything else in the back door. Failure to do so may result in a serious injury. The warning label is on the back door. 56
