/!\WARNING Carefully follow all of the manufacturer's instructions included with the safety seat you put in your vehicle. If you do not install and use the safety seat properly, the child may be injured in a sudden stop or collision. Attaching Safety Seats With Tether Straps Some manufacturers make safety seats that include a tether strap that goes over the back of the vehicle seat and attaches to an anchoring point. Other manufacturers offer the tether strap as an accessory. Contact the manufacturer of your child safety seat for information about ordering a tether strap. Tether anchorage hardware All vehicles include a tether anchor installed at the rear center seating position for use with child safety seats. Attachment holes (at each rear outboard 38 seating position) have been provided in your vehicle to attach anchor hardware, if required. Additional kits can be obtained at no charge from any Ford or Lincoln-Mercury dealer. Safety Belts for Children Children who are too large for child safety seats should always wear safety belts. (See instructions with your child seat, or contact its manufacturer, to determine maximum size of child that will safely fit in the seat.) /!\ WARNING If safety belts are not properly worn and adjusted as described, the risk of serious injury to the child in a collision will be much greater.
