Pull handle under the instrument panel. Hood release Coolant capacity-3.0L V6 10.6L (11.2 quarts) engine 1 Coolant capacity-3.9L V8 11.3L (11.9 quarts) engine 1 Power steering fluid capacity Fill to MAX line on reservoir. Use Motorcraft MERCON ATF. Engine cooling fan fluid Fill to MAX line on reservoir. Use capacity Motorcraft MERCON ATF. Manual transmission fluid 1.1L (1.2 quarts). Use Motorcraft MERCON ATF. capacity 2, 3 11.2L (11.9 quarts). Use Motorcraft Automatic transmission fluid MERCON V ATF. capacity (5R55N) 2, 4 1 Use Ford Premium Engine Coolant (green in color). DO NOT USE Ford Extended Life Engine Coolant (orange in color). Refer to Adding engine coolant, in the Maintenance and Care chapter. 2 Ensure the correct automatic transmission fluid is used. MERCON and MERCON V are not interchangeable. DO NOT mix MERCON and MERCON V. Refer to your scheduled maintenance guide to determine the correct service interval. 3 Service refill capacity is determined by filling the transmission to the bottom of the filler hole with the vehicle on a level surface. 4 Approximate dry capacity, includes cooler and tubes.
